Rowena is a physiotherapist with over 30 years’ experience in both private practice and as a rehabilitation consultant. She has worked extensively in occupational rehabilitation, assisting injured workers to return to their jobs. Rowena has a professional interest in chronic pain management over the last few years and is keen to assist clients that historically have had limited options and may have been poorly managed. Her PhD investigated the use of nutritional therapy for chronic pain, so she now incorporates her role as a nutritionist with her physiotherapy expertise. Rowena is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Australian Pain Society, The Australian Metabolic Health Society, and an accredited member the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners. She is a registered Nutritionist with the Nutrition Society of Australia. Rowena sees local patients as part of the STEPP pain management program with Ms Felicity Slevin (psychologist). Felicity is a Registered Psychologist providing psychological education and treatment interventions to those suffering a wide range of psychological problems. Felicity is also the Psychologist for the STEPP program which provides multidisciplinary treatment and structured education for those suffering persistent pain. The STEPP program offers psychology services that are informed by the latest neuroscience research into chronic pain as well as cognitive behavioural therapy to deal with the emotional, social and occupational difficulties that so often accompany persistent pain.
