Miss Amy Brown

Psychologist

Hey there, I'm Amy a registered psychologist, and I’m thrilled that you’re considering that I might be a good fit to support you through your struggles to move towards the life you dream of. Let's face it, navigating life and figuring out who you are, what you want, and how to achieve it can be tough, right? Since I set foot on the path to becoming a psychologist, my goal has been simple: to find and share the best information and support people to live lives they love. Within my career I've worked across the age range with individual's, groups and couple's, and particularly enjoy supporting women to reduce overwhelm, re-connect with themselves and the people in their lives. As a "high-achieving" woman who was only diagnosed with ADHD within my adult years, I know firsthand what it's like to feel lost, overwhelmed, and uncertain. Whilst traditional psychology can sometimes encourage that psychologists act as blank slates, I prefer to show my humanness and vulnerability, with the firm belief that this is part of creating an authentic therapeutic relationship, normalising mental health symptoms and reducing stigma. I feel incredibly grateful when this can help others to feel understood, seen and supported. In my professional journey, I have worked with couples and individuals of all ages, helping them find clarity and move closer towards a life they love. I have also delved into the study of positive psychology in the Netherlands, discovering how the traditional psychology of what goes ‘wrong’ can also teach us a lot about what goes RIGHT with humans. I've channeled my passion for psychology into various settings, from leading wellbeing retreats and workshops to non-traditional mental health supports like nature based therapy, training and supporting other clinicians, as well as contributing to mental health and wellbeing non-profit organisations. Whether I'm facilitating sessions, conducting research, or developing resources, my goal remains the same: to share evidence-based knowledge, skills and compassion, to truly make a difference. When I'm not doing the above, you can catch me slowing down on a picnic rug at the park, taking a beach walk and swim with my gorgeous puppy Darby, eating my body weight in Mexican food, spending time with the people I love or unleashing my inner nerd with the latest (often non-fiction) book or training I’m loving. Life's too short not to prioritise the things you enjoy! I really understand how daunting starting therapy can be, just deciding to look for a psychologist is such a big and important step that I hope you feel proud of. I wish you the absolute best for your therapy journey. If you feel that my style of therapy might work for you, I would love to hear from you so we can schedule a meet and greet phone call. Warmly, Amy ___________________________________________________________________________ FAQ ___________________________________________________________________________ What is the cost of a session? Ms Marina Dawson

Psychologist

Hi there, I’m Marina. I am a passionate and neuro-affirming psychologist who works with adults seeking support with the stressors and transitions of modern life. I am passionate about providing a space for sensitive, high achieving and high masking women to pause, reflect and feel seen. Reaching out to a psychologist is a big step and a great act of self-care. Well done on being here. With a qualifications and experience in mental health and organisational psychology, my skillset connects therapeutic care with coaching, workplace and career support. I’ve supported women to step into leadership and new challenges, sat with workers facing the hardest of setbacks and barriers, held space for individuals and families to grow whilst experiencing chronic and complex mental health conditions. As a mother of two, I also bring my own lived experience with family neurodivergence and appreciate the highs and lows of parenting when we are all wired differently. What is Therapy with me like? I provide a relaxed, warm and welcoming space, inviting curiosity and connection. I can support you to navigate life with compassion for yourself and others. My goal is to help you feel at ease, even when the work we do together might be uncomfortable. I hope you walk away feeling lighter; having been able to share some of the emotion and heaviness in a safe space with someone who gets it. I know the importance of meeting you where you are at. I pride myself on being client-centred and strengths based in all of my work. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, yet we all just need a little extra space and guidance to enhance our wellbeing at times. What can I help with? Whether you need support with anxiety, stress, burnout, overwhelm, motivation, goals, your workplace or career - I am here to help you feel unstuck and collaborate with you on a path forward aligned with your own values, time, energy and purpose. As a millennial parent, I understand what it is like to juggle the complexities and contradictions of motherhood today. The physical, emotional and hormonal changes; the overstimulation and under stimulation; the career and identity shifts; the mental load…the list goes on. I can help you to unpack these dynamics and find small, workable ways to ease the pressure and isolation that is all too common, so you don’t have to do it alone. How do I work? I draw on evidence-based therapies and frameworks including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, compassion-focused and Positive Psychology. My style combines empathy, flexibility, reflection and coaching to personalise my approach and provide you with the support that is right for you, right now. Who am I outside of work? When I’m not in clinic, I am spending time playing with and supporting my two young children. I am finding ways to carve out time for myself, which normally involves a quiet coffee alone, a walk in nature and a podcast with my current special interest. When I think about who I am at the core - I love yoga, the beach, learning and being creative – so I am continuously trying to find my way back into alignment with these personal joys and myself.
