Maree is a registered Psychologist who works in a client-centred, strengths-based way. That means working alongside people to help them reconnect to their own amazing strengths, resilience and existing resources and supports. Maree possesses clinical counselling experience across private practice, and community settings as well as experience in Hospital and Health Services. Maree works with most issues but she has a special interest in trauma (including PTSD), grief and loss, as well as wellness, and navigating life transitions. Maree has also worked in clinical research so she is also interested in the bigger picture of emerging fields - including epigenetics and the intersection and interplay between mind and body Besides these special interest areas Maree has worked with clients dealing with anxiety (including OCD and panic), depression, bipolar and mood disorders, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other stress (including burnout), schizophrenia, brain damage, addictions (that can be managed in private practice), abuse, weight loss and habit change, low self-esteem, autism, anger, pain, phobias including agoraphobia, people dealing with relationship breakdowns, and the effects of domestic violence. Maree accepts clients using diverse funding including clients referred by Open Arms, private paying clients, Medicare funded (who have a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP), workcover, super funds or who are are self-funded through the NDIS. (Private fee paying clients might be eligible for some rebates through their Health Fund, if their plan covers counselling or psychology.)
