Sophia Ford (BBehavSc Hons MClinPsych) is a Clinical Psychologist providing psychological treatment services. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with endorsement in the practice area of clinical psychology. She is also a member of the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) body.
Sophia has a broad range of professional experience, previously working in alcohol and drug counselling, community mental health, inpatient and outpatient hospitals, suicide prevention research and suicide bereavement.
Sophia offers individual therapy to clients aged 12 years and up with a broad range of concerns. She sees clients across the lifespan and works particularly well with adolescents and young adults.
Sophia has a naturally warm and gentle therapeutic style, with a passion for supporting people to discover insights, find solutions, make decisions, and develop new behaviours to help equip and empower them to make positive changes in their lives.
Sophia is trained and experienced in utilising a range of evidence-based treatment models, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), CBT for Eating Disorders, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal therapy. She has an integrative approach collaboratively built on the individual’s needs.
Sophia offers in-clinic appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and telehealth appointments on Mondays.
