Overview

Welcome Mothers ! My Art Therapy and Psychotherapy sessions with mumma's are collaborative, person-centred and directed by your needs. I view each Mother I work with as an expert in their own life. My role is to fully understand your lived experience of Mothering and walk beside you with empathy, understanding, respect and compassion. "Creating Motherhood" is my passion project where I offer Arts Therapy and Psychotherapy to Mothers navigating the joys and challenges of Motherhood. I am also navigating Motherhood with a 3 year old and I am in this season of life with you !. My work with Mothers focuses on providing a nourishing and nurturing environment for your nervous system. We are often overloaded with sensory stimulation and the needs of the children and people in our lives. I view my time with you as a sacred time for you to "slow down" and take "time for yourself". Motherhood can bring up feelings of grief and loss, changes in identity, changes in purpose and life direction and can also bring up unprocessed trauma from our own childhoods. Pre and postpartum is a time of great transformation and change for women and I hold this transition with great reverence and care, offering a safe place for "Mother to Mother" connection and support. I also draw on my own lived experience of Motherhood which is constantly evolving, it is also one of my greatest sources of empathy and compassion for other women also navigating this incredible journey of Matrescence. I also work with young people and people living with disabilities.  My approach views each individual as innately capable of reaching their goals and dreams for their life. Sometimes we just need a little support along the way. As a trauma informed, multi-modal arts therapist, I am trained to use multiple creative modalities in sessions that follow industry standards, are client lead and are sensitive to the social, cultural environment of the people I work with. I offer services to all members of the community regardless of age, race, cultural background, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and welcome all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am looking forward to meeting you mumma and holding space for you to "come home to yourself"- Sarah
