Overview
Sand and Surf Psychology was formed by registered psychologist, Patrick O’Brien, to:
• Support and journey with people through challenges and difficulties they are experiencing.
• Help meet the increasing need people have for deeper meaning and purpose in their lives.
At Sand and Surf Psychology people seeking psychological support are accepted, listened to and guided. It is a place for connection, understanding and growth.
Patrick has an empathetic, encouraging and completely non-judgemental approach for working with people across a range of life challenges and difficulties. He welcomes people who have a clinical diagnosis or those who have become stuck by difficulties that hold them back from living a full life, including:
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Relationship issues
• Low self-worth
• Relational trauma
• Leadership challenges
• Work and career issues
• Parenting concerns
Depending on the needs of individuals, treatment can range from short-term alleviation of symptoms to long-term therapy that works through persistent and complex difficulties and challenges.
Services offered are:
• Counselling – Usually shorter-term treatment to address specific challenges and alleviate symptoms.
• Psychotherapy – Longer treatment for persistent and troubling difficulties.
• Career development – This can vary from supporting people to transition to a work role that is a better fit for them or to help with responding to a vocational calling.
• Leadership development – This includes elements of counselling and extends to addressing persistent difficulties that limit leaders in demanding roles.
