Sabrina has been registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Psychologist since 2010 and holds endorsement in Forensic Psychology. She completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology degree with honours at the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and her Master of Forensic Psychology degree at Bond University. She also recently completed her Master of Clinical Psychology (Advanced Entry) with USQ to obtain clinical endorsement.
After graduating from Bond University, she became a Senior Research Assistant for three years and published research articles, book chapters and other publications in the areas of vocational rehabilitation, return-to-work, cultural linguistics, offending behaviours, and fitness to stand trial. She also conducted family violence assessment for the Department of Immigrations and Border Protection for two years.
In private practice, Sabrina works mostly with adolescents and adults to cope with various mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, anger, substance use, trauma, grief, self-esteem, cultural adjustment, and marital issues. She can provide therapy in English, Mandarin and Hokkein and is a NAATI accredited Paraprofessional interpreter. She utilizes CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and trauma-focused therapy approaches.
Sabrina has a special interest in the treatment of trauma/PTSD and has been actively furthering her training and knowledge base in this area. In particular, she has been developing her skills in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy through the EMDR institute and is an accredited EMDR practitioner with EMDRAA. She is currently doing a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) to become an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) that will allow her to help people going through separation or divorce to resolve disputes. She is also currently doing her PhD on childhood adversity and interpersonal problems among adolescents.
