Rosealeen provides psychoanalytic psychotherapy for individuals and couples. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is usually a longer term experience, it can be considered as both a process and an experience. In so far as the process, there are set times for a session. Each session lasts for fifty minutes and there is an encouragement to speak freely of whatever comes to mind. The experience can be considered as one of an exploratory nature, it is also an intense and profound experience of getting to know oneself in a different way than might have previously been understood. This 'getting to know' involves discovering aspects of oneself that have previously been un thought. This brings into awareness how the experience of being ‘you’, affects your relationships and experiences of being in the world. In this way we come to observe and consider the personal/private relationships as well as more public realms, including the workplace. Shorter term psychotherapy and counselling are also provided for those people who feel this is more suitable for them. Psychotherapy has been found useful and meaningful to those people who are experiencing grief and loss, depression, anxiety , profound feelings of meaninglessness and dissatisfaction with life. Marital and/or relational problems and the different ways these might manifest, can also be explored and understood in new ways, creating the potential for improvement and growth of relationships.
