Ms Rima Alkadamani

Counsellor

Rima Alkadamani – or Mimi, as many know me –  and after two decades working as a caseworker and project officer within government and non-profit organisations. I felt it was time for something different. I wanted to move beyond the limitations of bureaucracy and create a space where care feels more personal, more connected, and more human. Mimicares was born from that vision. I have finally found my place where I can help individuals and families feel seen, supported, and empowered. I was first drawn to counselling and therapy because of a chance encounter with an inspiring lecturer who saw something in me that I hadn’t yet recognised. Through kindness, empathy, and compassion, I have embraced my role in helping people navigate their own challenges, fostering hope and resilience in their lives. I have always envisioned a practice where I could now offer individualised care – one that priorities compassion, connection, and meaningful support. That vision has now become Mimicares, a space dedicated to helping individuals and families on their journey toward healing and growth. I hold a Bachelor of Health Science with a concentration in Behavioural and Social Science, alongside a graduate Diploma in Counselling university level. Additionally, I have successfully completed the Advanced Certificate in Child-Centered Play Therapy and I am duly registered with both the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Play Therapy Practitioners Association (PTPA). This academic and professional foundation equips me with specialised knowledge and a profound understanding of evidence-based methodologies vital for nurturing and advancing children’s development. Therapeutic approaches I use include: Play Therapy – using play to support emotional and behavioural needs in children and strengthen family connections Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – to build emotional regulation, resilience, and communication skills Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – focusing on values-based living and gentle growth, even through life’s challenges.  Therapy focus areas: Anxiety Depression Stress Behavioural Issues General life challenges Trauma Learning difficulties Chronic health Rima Alkadamani Child Counsellor | Play Therapist  M: 0420 909 969 O: (02) 8776 3698 E: rima@mimicares.com.au W: mimicares.com.au Unit 5, 80 Cecil Avenue Castle Hill, NSW 2154 Lic No: 11036
