Amy Bortz

Psychologist

Amy (she/her) is a compassionate and LGBTQIAP+ friendly clinician who works with clients aged 18+. She received her full clinical training (Bachelor of Arts with Major in Psychology; Honours in Psychology; and Master of Clinical Psychology) from the University of Melbourne. Amy tends to utilise skills and techniques from various treatment modalities, including Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Amy prioritises the creation of a non-judgmental, safe space from the moment one enters the therapy room. Amy loves being a psychologist due to its seamless blend of both science and art. Amy’s commitment to her clients is that she stays informed on the science of psychology through ongoing professional development and learning; an aspect of her role that she thoroughly enjoys. Chloe (she/her) is a registered psychologist with over 5 years’ experience working in community and private mental health. She works with adolescents and adults, from all different backgrounds and walks of life. Chloe understands that beginning therapy can initially be a daunting prospect, but her evidenced-based practice, compassion and strengths-based approach emphasises the learning, humour and joy that often accompanies self-understanding and growth. She is passionate about building a non-judgmental, collaborative, nurturing and safe space to facilitate self-exploration and understand an individuals unique intersecting aspects of identity, life experiences, relationships and systemic factors. This allows a deep dive into therapy, fostering sustainable and positive change through enhancing understanding of responses to unmet needs, interpersonal and behavioural patterns and sense of self, as well as recognising an individuals own intrinsic strengths and skills. Ciaran Barton

Ciaran is a registered psychologist. His extensive experience spans across the lifespan, providing therapy to individuals from childhood through adulthood. One of Ciaran’s special interests and areas of expertise is in working with the LGBTQIAP+ community, where he passionately supports his clients in their unique journeys. Ciaran adopts an empowering approach to therapy, emphasizing the individual’s strengths rather than focusing on deficits. His therapeutic style is eclectic, integrating the best elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy to address his clients’ individualised goals and needs. Kate (she/her) has a collaborative, authentic, and compassionate approach and is passionate about working with clients to give them the tools and support needed to reach their goals and live a fulfilling life. She works with all ages, from children through to older adults in both brief and long-term intervention formats. Kate uses both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches and draws from other modalities so that she can flexibly work with clients and create an individualised approach that fits each person’s needs. Kate enjoys working work with a wide variety of concerns and has specific skills in working in stress management, with people with physical health conditions (such as cancer, cardiac conditions, chronic pain, and chronic health conditions) and with the LGBTQIA+ community.

Latha Iyer

Psychologist

Latha’s clients describe her as kind, skilled and thoughtful registered Clinical Psychologist. She has years of experience in a private practice setting; helping individuals overcome challenges, improve their well-being, and lead fulfilling lives. Latha would never treat an individual as a “problem”, and would always treat them as a person. Latha utilises a blend of several therapies to suit the needs of the individual, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, and others. She is experienced supporting individuals with a range of presentating issues, such as anxiety, mood disorders, interpersonal difficulties, emotion dysregulation and low self-esteem. She has a particular interest in working with clients for obsessive compulsive disorder. Latha understands it can be daunting engaging with a psychologist for the first time, or for those re-engaging with a different psychologist. She will always go at the pace of the client and prioritises ensuring clients feel comfortable.

Lauré Coulter

Lauré obtained her postgraduate qualifications in South Africa, where she worked as a clinical psychologist with children and adolescents, adults, and couples. Lauré is a registered psychologist with AHPRA, and is passionate about accompanying each of her clients on their mental health journey and has worked with individuals of all ages across a variety of mental health settings, including psychiatric, correctional, public health, and private practice spaces. Lauré works with individuals facing a range of challenges such as anxiety, stress, depression and loss, and takes a gentle and person-centred approach to therapy. She draws on a range of therapeutic modalities to ensure that each therapeutic process is uniquely tailored to the specific needs of her client. Lauré prioritises the nurturing of a consistent, comfortable, and confidential space within which her clients can safely explore and navigate the complexities of their inner and outer worlds. Lauré shares a deep appreciation and understanding for the difficulties that we all face as human beings. She believes in the power of vulnerability and self-compassion. Her clients describe her as empathetic, authentic and dependable.

Dr Melanie Strang is a registered psychologist who supports adults.
