Overview
Below is information outlining the services:
We have three (3) streams of services at Paws on Film being:
Occupational Therapy with animals (allied health charged at the current NDIS schedule of rate being $193.99) – Occupational Therapist working directly with the client and their specified NDIS goals within their NDIS plans,
Speech Therapy with animals (allied health charged at the current NDIS schedule or rate being $193.99); and
Assisted animal activities/Therapy
Our Assisted Animal activities is held on site with qualified and experienced animal handlers, and like our occupational/Speech therapy services, we work within the client’s NDIS goals and program areas of:
Social Skills
Emotional Regulation
Patience
Awareness
Communication
Our clients are either Self-Managed or plan managed within their NDIS plans, and we charge $175 per client for Animal Assisted Therapy. However being planned managed, we need to ensure that our clients have enough funding in ‘other therapies’ as it is not delivered by allied health, and will require a confirmation email from your plan manager to approve our services.
We gather initial information from the clients enrolment form and this provides the indication of the program areas that the family wish to continue to develop in line with their learning goals from their NDIS plan.
Our initial sessions with each client is always based on relationship building with our animal handler and a meet and greet of all animals on site.
We then pair the animal with the client and work within our array of activities/strategies to continue developing their goals in all program areas.
Our animal handler’s keep key lesson plans, that details the animal interaction, activity/strategy undertaken and observation of the session.
We do have current availability for assisted animal activities and we have a current waitlist for Occupational/Speech Therapy (however in saying this, we have another Occupational Therapist commencing with us early February and we have a Speech therapist starting next month), we are located in Sunbury. Our sessions run for 50 minutes with 10 minute notation.
