AN HOLISTIC APPROACH TO YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. Hi, I'm Julie Lovelle and with my own life experiences and formal counselling training that can assist in many areas that may hold you back from living your own life the way you would like or dream to experience about. I have over 20 years experience as a remedial massage therapist that had me wondering why some women were experiencing pain that could not be explained. I then realised it was from toxic relationships, childhood experiences, trauma and other experiences. I found women were confiding in me on various aspects of their life and I was counselling women without formal training. With my passion to help women I then decided to formally learn how to become a counsellor. I started by studying a Bachelor of Social Work before further training in my passion of counselling and completed a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and further study to a Masters of Counselling. A lot of my study electives and specialisation subjects were in the area of children, youth, family and mental health. These learnings have given me a good rounded skillset for women, children, youth and family perspectives. During my studies I worked in the disability sector both as a support worker and support co-ordinator. This work has enabled me to work in a person centred way which I still use in my counselling. I have personal experience as a defence spouse. The highs and lows of moving interstate every couple of years and having to navigate your own career. A partner going away for months at a time and being given a home date which often changes last minute and they could be away for longer than expected. Missed birthdays, important dates and anniversaries. Constantly adapting to changes and building resilience. I have been working in a youth counselling organisation for just over a year and enjoy working with adolescents. Let me help you unpack what your troubles are in a safe environment. My passion is to help women to achieve a life of their choosing regardless of what has been thrown at them before. My own personal experiences of domestic violence, blending a family, and having family members in the LGBTIQ+ space allows me to understand the complexities of life. Sometimes you need a little time, assistance, and skills to achieve a happy fulfilling life that you deserve to have. I like to use a creative approach to counselling. Working with you may include alternatives to just talking such as craft, doodling, journaling, writing, worksheets specific, breathwork, drawing in the sand/dirt the list is endless. Each will be adapted to your individuality and relevance. I am a registered Counsellor with Australia Counselling Association (ACA) Level 2 My Qualifications: Master of Counselling - Edith Cowan University Graduate Diploma of Counselling, Child Youth and Family - University of Southern Queensland Bachelor of Social Work - James Cook University.
