Tish is an experienced Primary and Secondary teacher, Tish has a passion for all things literacy. She was an EAL teacher and teacher trainer after completing her first degree in Languages/Linguistics and then moved on to teaching in schools. Tish has taught all year levels from Prep to VCE and has worked as a Literacy Learning Specialist, helping other teachers further develop their own knowledge of the mechanics of language and language acquisition. Tish has also worked as a Literacy, Numeracy and Childhood Development teacher at university, teaching Bachelor of Education (Primary) students. Tish has recently completed the DET’s ‘Supporting Students with Learning Difficulties Including Dyslexia’ professional learning program and will be undertaking training in the Yoshimoto OG approach through the Dyslexia Orton-Gillingham Institute of Australia this summer. She is also trained in MultiLit's MacqLit program, which she delivered as part of a literacy intervention initiative for secondary school students. As a mother and teacher, Tish has a strong understanding of the challenges that many neurodivergent students and their families can face. She is devoted to helping her students develop greater confidence and is always exploring new ways to support students with learning differences including dyslexia, dysgraphia, ASD and ADHD.
