Info

Overview

Nikita works with adults and adolescents. She creates an authentic, accepting, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients feel safe to unpack their difficulties. Nikita believes building a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to facilitating meaningful progress. Complementing the therapeutic relationship, her approach to treatment is individualised and person-centred. She does not believe in a 'one-size fits all' approach to therapy. Rather, each case is approached with sensitivity and adaptability and Nikita draws upon an array of evidence-based therapeutic modalities that best suit the client's needs. As a multicultural Australian, Nikita appreciates the unique challenges and strengths inherent in different cultures and how this interacts with the individual sense of self. She takes great enjoyment in supporting individuals from varied cultural backgrounds, including First Nations people. She has a wealth of experience supporting individuals and groups of various ages, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic status. Her recent role supporting participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) highlights her ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying ages and cognitive abilities. This role included providing therapeutic support to individuals, alongside education and training to the families and support teams of clients with neurodevelopmental disabilities and complex psychosocial disabilities, such as schizophrenia, personality disorders, and addiction. Nikita is also a registered work development order (WDO) sponsor. On a personal note, Nikita loves music, animals, nature, travel, and spending time with loved ones.
