Overview

Hello, and welcome. My name is Nicole Cashin (she/her). I am an Eating Disorder Credentialled, size-inclusive, neuro-affirming dietitian and nutritionist. Although I am based in Melbourne, More Than Nutrients is a fully online clinic — meaning I can support people from anywhere in Australia. I understand that eating and mealtimes can be complicated and created More Than Nutrients to empower you to become an expert in managing your health or the health of your child. I chose the name More Than Nutrients to reflect my belief that although the foods we eat have an impact on our body, the role food plays in our life extends far beyond its nutritional content. A theme I often explore with my clients is what does food mean to you? Some of the responses I commonly hear include pleasure, connection, joy… I also hear fear, pain, a chore. Food is more than nutrients on a plate — it’s woven into our stories, cultures, and emotions. At the same time, nutrition can simply be a tool: a way to support your energy and wellbeing so you can focus on the things that matter most, the values you hold, and the experiences that make life worth living. My role is to help you explore both — the deeper meaning food holds and the practical ways it can sustain the life you want. This perspective encourages a mindful, compassionate, and comprehensive journey towards a more sustainable relationship with food — one that acknowledges both systemic (i.e., social, political, and economic) and individual factors (i.e., personalities, preferences, and past experiences) at every step. Alongside client care, I also provide supervision for new graduates and early‑ to mid‑career dietitians — whether you are currently working, or hoping to work, in private practice, eating disorder and mental health spaces, or seeking to deepen your understanding of HAES‑aligned, neuro‑affirming practice. My supervision spaces are designed to feel safe, curious, and growth‑oriented, supporting professionals as they develop confidence and clarity. Outside of working, you’ll find me with my (equal parts cute and chaotic) Jack Russell, Lenny, spending time in nature, or diving into new hobbies - often with great enthusiasm, even if they only last a week (as of writing this, it’s lino cutting and printing!).
