About Me: I’m a mum to 2 young children and a clinical psychologist who is passionate about helping clients work towards their goals. I have over 10 years of experience in working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing challenges including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, pregnancy and postnatal concerns and psychosis. I have a special interest in working with women who are pregnant or experiencing postnatal concerns. My approach to therapy is collaborative and focusses on client’s feeling valued and heard. I use evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. In the first appointment we usually discuss your current challenges and goals for therapy and work collaboratively with you to discuss treatment options and decide on a treatment plan. Fees: A standard session is $230 (50 minute session). If your GP feels you are eligible and refers you using a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) you will receive a rebate (refund from medicare) of $131.65 per session for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year. Rebates can be processed at the end of your session If you are seeing Mya without a mental health care plan you may be eligible for a rebate from your private health insurance. Unfortunately, Mya is unable to provide a bulk billing service however if your experiencing financial hardship please discuss this with her. Cancellation fees: When an appointment is booked for you a 1 hour session is reserved for you. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice. If you provide under 24 hours notice or don't attend your appointment a cancellation fee of $115 (50% of the appointment fee) will be charged to your credit card.
