Yingying is a registered Psychologist and an Occupational Therapist who believes in the healing power of listening, connecting and nurturing. Yingying has many years of experience working within the public mental health system, looking after people with moderate to severe, enduring mental illnesses both as an OT and as a psychologist. Yingying has worked across inpatient and outpatient settings with adults. Yingying holds a full membership of the Australian Psychology Society (APS) and Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) member.
Yingying's current clinical interests are working with young children and adults.
For children, Yingying predominately works with those up to 7 years old who may benefit from early intervention due to a range of developmental issues, including those with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and global developmental delays. Yingying can also work with parents, carers and schools to provide outreach training and support in the child's home or learning environments.
Yingying's clinical experiences can serve adults with affective and mood disorders, anxiety, trans-generational trauma, and adjustment challenges associated with migration and relocation. Yingying's service is also open to those with no formal diagnosis of mental illness but is looking for a compassionate witness and a co-traveller in their life journey of exploring self-worth, meaning and purpose. Yingying's therapy style is relational-focused and attachment-informed, with primary therapeutic modalities involving CBT, DBT-informed, ACT, Schema, Mindfulness-based, and those adapted from the accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy (AEDP).
Yingying offers a 20 min free initial phone consult to new clients. This assists both parties in assessing their suitability and compatibility before entering into a therapeutic relationship.
Yingying is bilingual (Mandarin Chinese and English).
