Overview

Yeeling is a warm and approachable psychologist with a cheerful, optimistic and practical approach to the difficulties that her clients face. She is skilled in helping clients of all ages and has a particular affinity for young people and teenagers. Recognising that adolescence is such a vital period in our lives, Yeeling is enthusiastic about assisting individuals and their families to thrive through the changes and challenges they encounter during this period of time. ​ Yeeling has an aptitude for couple's counselling and recognises that healthy relationships are important to our well-being. With her Masters in Health Psychology, Yeeling is particularly aware of the body-mind connection, and the psychological factors that contribute to becoming physically unwell. She has a compassionate attitude to a person struggling with disordered eating, chronic fatigue, pain and other challenges which she combines with practical, evidence based treatments. She is proficient in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema-informed Therapy, Attachment-based therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Yeeling strongly believes that a healthy mind is the basis to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She feels passionate about helping individuals and families to enhance their wellbeing and/or cope with an illness. In her practice, Yeeling has helped people to gain confidence in weight management as well as coping with other chronic conditions, such as stress and fibromyalgia. A particular strength of Yeeling as a psychologist is her multilingualism and multiculturalism. Her own experience as an international student has enriched her ability to understand the challenges of migration. Yeeling aspires to support individuals to build resilience, improve adaptability and most importantly, create a meaningful life in this wonderful country they now call home. Yeeling is fluent in English, Chinese-Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia. She also has a basic knowledge of Australian Sign Language.
