Ms Usha Mogannavale Psychologist

Client-centred therapy lies at the centre of my practice of psychology; where the client's needs, personal perspectives and preferences inform my treatment methods and choices. I see psychological treatment as a collaborative experience forged by the kindred rapport between the client and myself. My clients and I embark on the recovery journey together and I ensure my approach enables the client to eventually become independent where they no longer need my contribution and have found a stronger, richer version of themselves through therapy. Usha started her career as a indepedent Childrens' Lawyer for the Victorian State Government / Judiciary with a Law Degree (Hons) from Monash University. She then completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science, Graduate Dip of Psychology, Master of Psychology and is currently completing a PhD in Psychosomatic Medicine. She is a registered Psychologist with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has trained in clinical modalities of psychology such as ACT, CBT, DBT, rTMS depression treatment, children's psychology and LGBTQIA+ treatment techniques. Usha is psychologist trained in key areas of psychosomatic medicine. Her skills in this area can be expanded and applied to a range of clinical psychological treatment domains. Her experience in trauma therapy, veteran PTSD therapy, LGBTQI+ challenges and common clinical presentations such as anxiety, depression and personality disorder management provides for skills and experience in a wide range of clinical presentations. This ensures that she is able to provide appropriate and effective treatment to specific client needs and does not use trial-and-error methods or "one-size-fits-all" type treatment modalities.
