‘For many years I’ve been providing support to children, adolescents and adults in adapting to different changes in their lives, whether relational, working, or learning difficulties eg in University and Schools. Talking to someone can be very helpful. Stresses of everyday life in these times can be very difficult, and reaching out to talk to someone is your first step towards gaining a sense of control and purpose in your life. It would be a privilege to help you identify your challenges, and support you working towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life for yourself and/or your children. QUALIFICATIONS Sue has completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and Linguistics; a Bachelor of Education; and a Bachelor of Science (Honours). Her postgraduate research studies include the 2-year Master of Psychology degree. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a Psychology Board-approved Supervisor with AHPRA, a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and a registered teacher. Sue has training and experience using several evidence-based approaches, including Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). EXPERIENCE Sue has experience working with many people of different ages across the lifespan, most especially children 6-12 years, adolescents, and adults - including ‘seniors’. The diverse range of challenges she has provided support and counselling for include people with with anxiety; learning difficulties, especially dyslexia and all associated assessments/testing; work and relationship issues; helping parents find joy in their relationship with their children, including those with behavioural difficulties or medical and disability concerns. She has also worked with adults who are new to Australia with different cultural and language backgrounds; and expats experiencing adjustment challenges. She has also provided counselling and support to adolescents, senior high school and university students for career guidance, and to proactively help them manage stresses and anxiety, study skills and ‘learning how to learn’.
