Overview

Sonia is a Registered Psychologist, who graduated with an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of NSW. Her experience in mental health includes over 20 years working as a Counsellor . Her passion lies in helping her clients build resilience, reach their potential and live rich, full and meaningful lives. Sonia has a warm, empathetic & interactive counselling style adopting a flexible approach & tailoring her approach to suit her clients– needs. She uses evidence-based therapies, integrating CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness into her work with adults & older adolescents. Her key areas of interest & expertise include: depression & mood disorders; anxiety & panic disorders; life goals & directions; relationship & career difficulties; trauma & PTSD, rehabilitation/injury counselling, cancer support, workplace bullying and harassment . She is passionate about helping her clients overcome and effectively manage psychological distress including those presenting with depression and anxiety disorders, work and relationship stress, emotion regulation difficulties, and trauma related disorders. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and provides treatment under Medicare and SIRA.
