Ms Sharon Murphy Psychotherapist

Sharon has over 15 years of experience in private practice working with children, adolescents, couples, families, adults and groups. Sharon has previously worked in primary and high schools as a school counsellor, and as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, mediating between separating couples. Sharon is an Approved Counsellor with NSW and ACT programs for victims/survivors of violent crimes, such as physical and sexual abuse. Sharon has lectured at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Sharon completed her analytical training with the Institute of Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in 2016 and then undertook additional activities and supervision in Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy to achieve Membership with NSW Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. In her work, Sharon draws predominantly from her psychoanalytic psychotherapy training; as well as drawing from her couple and family systems training; and EMDR and Mentalisation Based Therapy (Basic and Family) training. Sharon is also Internal Family Systems informed, and has undertaken training in ketamine, psilocybin and MDMA-assisted therapy training.
