Overview

As a mother myself, I know how difficult it is to see your child struggling. And I know that bringing them to therapy is such a big step for both of you. So welcome, and congratulations on taking that first step - I am so looking forward to working with you. I take an attachment based, relationship focused approach to therapy, where you are the expert in your child, and I am here to guide and support you on your journey. I believe that creating sustainable change for children is only possible when we work with parents and children together. Therefore, I will always invite you to join your child in therapy sessions so we can work as a team to help your child thrive! Sarah completed a Bachelor Psychology and a Masters of Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Sydney and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Sarah is trained in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT(. Sarah has over 15 years of experience as a psychologist, working with children, adolescents and their families. She has spent the majority of her career working as a therapist on a child and adolescent mental health team within the public health system in NSW, supporting children and their families who were experiencing significant mental health challenges. She enjoys working with families who are experiencing big, overwhelming emotions and behaviours. But as a elf confessed ‘brain nerd’, she excels at translating complex brain science into language and practical tools that are easy to understand and accessible for children and their families. Sarah has a particular interest in working with children and teens who are experiencing anxiety and perfectionism that are interfering with school life, home life, and relationships - including OCD, panic attacks, social anxiety and specific phobias.
