Overview

I am a firm believer in the benefits of developing a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients. It has been a privilege to have been in this role for the time that I have and to have met such wonderful people along the way. My clients are the best experts on their experiences and I enjoy using their strengths and insider knowledge to help them achieve their goals. Samantha completed a Bachelor of psychological science (Hons) degree, and then went on to complete her full registration as a psychologist through the Australian College of Applied Psychology. She has a warm and empathic approach; taking the time to engage with each client and to understand their issues and challenges. Samantha works collaboratively to develop therapy goals, and tailors therapy to meet individual client’s needs. She draws on a range of evidence-based treatments in therapy including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution Focused Therapy. She equips clients with practical skills, tools and coping strategies to make positive changes in their lives. I have been a registered psychologist for the past 10 years, and during this period I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, with the bulk of my experience in private practice. I have worked with a diverse range of clients aged from 12 years to adults. Particular interests of mine include working with clients who are experiencing issues with depression, anxiety disorders, teens and younger adults, anger management, emotional regulation difficulties, perfectionism and procrastination, building self esteem, life transitions and difficulties coping with daily stress.
