Overview

Empowering my clients to have the skills necessary to navigate difficulties in life is important in the work I do with them. Those skills may be mindfulness, acceptance, flexibility, reflection, patience or confidence. I work with clients to build these skills by looking at the here and now, and what we do and don’t have control over. I enjoy working together with clients so that they can reach their goals in life. Whether that be being able to go out with friends, completing studies, working in a role they enjoy, or having a healthy relationship with themselves and others. I can imagine reaching out to make an appointment will be a “change” for a lot of people, and I look forward to working with you to hopefully guide that “change” in a direction that will land on a path of living through the things that are important to you. Reiko has completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology, and a Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Reiko uses evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Reiko has experience working with young adults and adult clients from various backgrounds (including culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) clients and LGBTQIA+ clients). Reiko has experience working with clients about issues related to work, relationships, studies, and family. Reiko has an interest in working with people who experience anxiety (including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; OCD), depression, stress, self-esteem concerns, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, and low motivation.
