Overview

Every client referred is different and brings their own and my, different skills, experience and knowledge to the fore in working with them and developing understanding and a management plan. My goal is to work with client and develop empathy while using; life experience, my training in Psychology and Counselling, and using resources aiming to build lasting change and skills. My work roles have spanned across settings, age groups, presenting issues and cultures where applied skills such as career transition/counselling, rehabilitation and general psychological issues such as trauma, depression and anxiety support. The satisfaction is helping clients effect change, working together. I have worked within the Medicare frameworks since 2007 and enjoy seeing the change and development psychological support can bring in life, particularly in this current time of need. Paulette completed a Bachelor or Arts, majoring in Psychology and Sociology and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), then completing a Graduate Diploma of Counselling plus Diplomas in Management and Human Resource Management. She holds several professional memberships, being registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a Member of the Australian Institute of Health and Safety and holds associate Membership of the Australian Society of Hypnosis Ltd. Her interests include assessment, psycho-education, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and skills training - such as relaxation, communication and AOD management and skills building. Paulette has worked across a range settings, across ages and cross culturally, from; mental health, apprenticeship college, medical, non government, government, palliative care, aged care, pre and post natal depression and private practice. She has worked within employment services and rehabilitation and pain management also. She continues to undertake ongoing professional development and has trained in a range of evidence based approaches and values experience assisting with the impact of trauma particularly in the Frontline Services, after previously volunteering and involvement in that sector. Using psychology and supporting day to day, life challenges is one of the keys to assisting people transition through events and she enjoys the satisfaction in helping others.
