We limit new clients so we have appropriate capacity for ongoing therapy for families. Thanks for your understanding. Monica is a mental health Occupational Therapist who has worked in infant, child and adolescent mental health in the Ipswich and Brisbane area for the past 14 years. She completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2009 through the University of Queensland, and a Graduate Diploma of Mental Health (Perinatal and Infant) in 2012 through the New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry (now the Higher Education Training Institute). Monica loves working with young people and families, and having the opportunity to help make a positive difference in their lives. She focuses on creating an environment of trust and safety to support young people and their families to share their stories and speak about the joys and challenges of their lives. She feels privileged to be able to get to know the individual young people that she sees, and the families that support them. She strives to work alongside families to build on strengths, develop understanding, identify strategies and strengthen family relationships so as to help manage life’s difficulties and to help young people and families to achieve their goals. Monica is an Ipswich local, and when not working, Monica loves spending time with her family including her two primary-school aged boys. She loves reading, all things crafty and playing frisbee with their energetic blue heeler puppy. “I don’t know what lies around the bend, but I’m going to believe that the best does.” Anne Shirley - Anne of Green Gables, L.M.
