Overview

Michelle is a registered psychologist with AHPRA and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She completed a Maters of Psychology (Counselling) and has worked in both private practice and community services treating children, young people and adults. Michelle has a qualification in Youth Work and extensive experience providing support and counselling to young people and their families presenting with various needs including mental health, substance abuse, involvement with the criminal justice system, family separation, school refusal and difficulties engaging in education. Psychological treatment offered by Michelle incorporates a variety of approaches and evidence based techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), family systems, mindfulness and Interpersonal Therapy. Michelle’s approach is consistently client-focused and strength-based: clients are the experts on their life experiences and her role is to empower clients to identify outcomes to guide psychological treatment. Michelle believes in the importance of collaborative psychological treatment and welcomes families and significant others to be involved in the treatment of her clients.
