Overview

Welcome and hello to you, I am looking forward to understanding who you are as an individual. I am hopeful that through our time together we can put in place some steps and strategies to assist you in achieving the outcomes you desire. Life can be such a rollercoaster so having a toolkit full of strategies to assist us through the highs and lows of life is key to achieving our goals. I work from a person first model. I want to know what works for you and what hasn't. I believe that everyone can benefit from taking care of our mental health just like we would our physical health. In fact I like to take a holistic approach to my work and know from experience that when our mind, body and spirit are all working together people's overall wellbeing and quality of life is increased. Melissa has completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), is currently undertaking a Masters in Business Psychology and is registered through the Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA). Melissa is trained in many evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Group based CBT treatment programs and she continues to add more to her repertoire. Melissa has over 10 years' experience working with both male and female adult clients. Melissa is skilled in working with personality disorders, drug and alcohol addictions, anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, complex trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, sexual offenders and forensic clients. Melissa also has extensive experience delivering group-based intervention programs as well as many years of experience in change management, leadership development, team dynamics, recruitment, team building, coaching and mentoring as well as workplace assessments. Melissa is skilled in report writing and can provide assessment reports to authorising environments (e.g. courts, doctors, lawyers etc).
