Maria has extensive professional experience as a Counsellor: Achieving the highest Clinical Level of the Australian Counselling Association and having worked as a Clinical Specialist and Supervisor for a variety of high profile Not-For-Profit organisations for over 15 years, she is well versed in the complexities of, and therapeutic responses to, a large range of client concerns. Maria is a Relationship and Trauma Specialist, Senior Lecturer and an Accredited Clinical Counselling Supervisor for Counsellors and Counselling students and provides Group Therapy to individuals and couples in a variety of settings. Maria is passionate about providing counselling that empowers Individuals, Couples and Families to flourish by focusing on making genuine and long-lasting positive change in their lives. Her approach is based on the latest advances in working with trauma, attachment theory, therapeutic change and neuroplasticity, and in particular how compassion and gratitude can be used to rewire the brain As a relationship and trauma specialist, Maria also assists families through separation processes, helping clients navigate this challenging period of their lives: Maria’s meditative focus helps families and children navigate the transition to separation with practical and compassionate guidance and support.
