Ms Lucia Bongiorno Psychologist

Lucia is a child and adolescent psychologist with degrees in psychology and education graduating with a Masters in Educational Psychology from the University of Melbourne. She has over 25 years’ experience working with children and adolescents, their families and school staff in the fields of education and psychology at a primary, secondary and tertiary level. Lucia has completed specialist training in the assessment, diagnosis and management of neurodevelopmental disorders including • Autism Spectrum Disorders • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder • Specific Learning Disorders (reading, written expression & maths) • Executive Function Challenges • Intellectual Disability • Behavioural disorders Lucia uses evidenced based intervention strategies in a creative and engaging context to assist children and adolescents develop • emotional regulation skills • social skills for stronger peer relationships • strategies to manage anxiety and depression • behavioural strategies to manage attention difficulties and challenging behaviours of concern Lucia works collaboratively with parents and schools to respond to behaviours of concern and to make appropriate adjustments and modifications to educational programs for children with Specific Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disability and specific educational needs. Lucia accepts referrals made under a Mental Health Care Plan and from self or plan managed NDIS participants.
