I'm Lauren Barber, a Clinical Nurse Specialist turned entrepreneur, with a passion for driving innovation in the healthcare industry. After earning my Bachelor of Nursing from Charles Sturt University in 2009, I embarked on a dynamic career journey that led me from Sydney Adventist Hospital to cosmetic dermatology. However, it was a personal experience with a needle stick injury that ignited a passion for addressing the widespread issue of needle phobia and healthcare avoidance. This passion sparked the creation of NeedleCalm™, a Class One medical device that offers a safe and affordable way to alleviate the physical and mental distress of needle procedures. I'm now steering NeedleCalm to new horizons, championing education in needle procedures, and preparing to launch two more groundbreaking products aimed at enhancing patient experiences. I also remain connected to clinical practice, ensuring my nursing skills remain sharp and grounded in real-world experiences.
