Overview

Kristy Hill is a passionate and effective therapist who has a background working as a psychologist within the Tasmanian public services, including the Education Department, Disability Services, inpatient Mental Health Services, Alcohol and Drug Services and Forensic Mental Health Services since 2004. In 2009, Kristy began to build a private practice in conjunction with working in public health and she has worked exclusively in a private practice setting since 2014. Kristy is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) a fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association. She also holds membership with the Australian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Kristy is experienced in providing interventions for all general mental health conditions (eg. depression, anxiety and stress), and she has a special interest in the treatment of eating disorders, personality disorders, trauma (including borderline personality disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder and self-harm), mood and emotion regulation disorders, and perinatal mental health. She develops highly personalised treatment interventions, depending on the person’s goals, using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other mindfulness based therapies. Kristy works with adolescents, adults and couples.
