Kate Scobell – Accredited Social Worker (AASW)
Master of Social Work | Bachelor of Business (Management)
I am an Accredited Social Worker with extensive experience in counselling, behaviour change, and case management across diverse and high-needs populations. My practice is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), strengths-based frameworks, and somatic practices.
I work with adults, adolescents, and families on issues including trauma recovery, alcohol and other drug (AOD) misuse, sexual harm, domestic and family violence, emotional regulation, and complex psychosocial challenges. I bring over a decade of experience in the criminal justice system as a Probation and Parole Officer, complemented by roles in residential rehabilitation, community-based counselling, and sexual violence services.
My approach prioritises safety, respect, and collaboration. I integrate clinical skills with a deep understanding of systemic factors impacting client wellbeing, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and those in remote and regional communities.
I offer:
* Individual counselling (face-to-face, phone, and online)
* Behaviour change interventions
* Trauma recovery support
* Psychoeducation and skills-based group facilitation
* Risk assessment, safety planning, and court-related reporting
I am committed to helping people create meaningful, sustainable change, even in challenging circumstances.
