Overview

Jacinta Grima is a senior clinical psychologist who specialises in providing assessment and therapy to children, adolescents, families and adults. She has more than 15 years of experience working with clients across the lifespan in public and private settings in both urban and rural areas. Jacinta is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association, the Australian Psychological Society and a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She is an active member of the Australian ADHD Professionals Association. Jacinta provides supervision to psychologists, clinical psychologists and clinical psychologist registrars. She has previously held academic appointments as an Adjunct Fellow and Casual Academic with Western Sydney University. Jacinta works with families struggling with a range of difficulties that emerge during childhood and adolescence (such as behaviour problems, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, ADHD, Tourette’s disorder, school and study related difficulties, autism, parent-child relationship problems) and working with parents during the perinatal and postnatal period. Liaison with wider systems such as schools, paediatricians, psychiatrists, speech and occupational therapists is paramount to her work to reach client goals. Adult services include assisting with depression, anxiety, life transitions, stress, and managing the executive function aspects of adult ADHD. Jacinta collaborates with her clients to provide an authentic therapeutic environment and integrates evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and takes a family systems and attachment perspective.
