I am a registered psychologist and ANZAED credentialed eating disorder clinician. I have worked across community and private mental health settings for the past 12 years with children, young people, adults and parents. I have worked with people across many transitional phases of their life and my predominant experience has been within the area of eating disorders and body image. I have worked within leading not-for-profit organisations providing individual treatment, counselling and group treatment to individuals experiencing an eating disorder and/or disordered eating. I have also supported families, carers and partners in supporting someone with an eating disorder. Additionally, I have experience working with anxiety disorders, mood disorders and trauma.
I have a strong interest and passion for perinatal and infant mental health through all aspects of conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond alongside the transition to parenthood. I have a specific passion in supporting individuals in pregnancy and postpartum who may be experiencing or have experienced body image issues. Furthermore, I have an interest and passion for working with women’s health issues and work with the intersection of all of these factors. I would also like to support people (such as parents or partners) who may be supporting someone with an eating disorder.
I strongly value the therapeutic relationship and creating a nurturing space of trust, safety, support, and compassion. A collaborative therapeutic environment is important to me. I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy. Additionally, I draw on a variety of theories and frameworks such as attachment theory, feminist frameworks. I hope to create a space where you feel empowered where we can work together on your goals, needs and deeper understandings of yourself at your pace.
