Overview

Ellaina is a registered psychologist and endorsed Clinical Neuropsychologist who holds a Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Psychology (first class honours) and Masters of Clinical Neuropsychology. She has a specific passion for paediatric neuropsychology and in addition to her private clinical practice, works as a Clinical Neuropsychologist at Monash Children's Hospital. She has considerable experience administering a range of paediatric neuropsychological assessments in addition to developmental assessment tools and the Autism Spectrum Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition. She has extensive experience assessing various neurodevelopmental presentations, including Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities and Specific Learning Impairments. She strongly believes in the provision of family-centred and neuroaffirming care and aims to provide evidence-based neuropsychological assessment to assist with diagnostic understanding and inform targeted intervention. She hopes that all families leave the service with a greater understanding of their child’s strengths and differences, how their child best functions in the world, and the targeted recommendations to help the family support the child’s needs so they can reach their full potential.  In addition to her clinical experience, she has also worked extensively in developmental and learning disabilities research. At the University of Sydney, her research involved the successful rollout of behavioural interventions supporting families and children with challenging behaviours, including children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Her master thesis research explored the underlying neuropsychology profiles of children with learning difficulties. Ellaina is also involved in undergraduate and graduate psychology teaching and works as a Unit Coordinator and teaching associate at Monash University and Macquarie University. She is also a founding member of the Kimberley Brain and Mind Foundation. A charitable organisation that supports communities in remote and regional areas of Western Australia to develop and implement research programs to help children with developmental and neurological disorders
