Overview

Reaching out for counselling support is never easy and rarely straight forward, so great job on making it this far!! Choosing a therapist can become a task in itself, so let me get straight to the point(s) that will hopefully help you decide if I’m the right fit (or not) for you. I love what I do. I take earning your trust very seriously. I think it’s a big deal to share your thoughts, fears, worries, hopes and dreams in counselling. I work hard to listen well and to understand your experience of the world and how you would like it to be different. I’m a real person and will be clear about how I think I can help and have both professional and life experience to draw from. I won’t however, be telling you what to do, because I believe the strengths and solutions are already within you and see my job as one of working with you to help you get them out. Chantal completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2013. She has been a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) since that time. Chantal has developed an integrated approach to therapy which draws from the evidence base of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; often thought of as “Mindfulness”) and Family Systems Theory. Chantal has experience working with a diverse range of clients, including adults, families, adolescents and children. She has specialised in working with high risk and complex situations including with families who were at risk of separation due to child protection concerns and with vulnerable young people in custody. She has a keen interest in trauma and substance use concerns, as well as the general challenges of anxiety, mood management and interpersonal challenges that face most of us daily. She is most passionate about helping people to restore a sense of stability and wellbeing after the challenges of the last few years. Chantal has worked in schools, government, non-government and private settings, including within a Telehealth context.
