Ms Cate Sinclair Occupational Therapist

Cate has extensive Occupational Therapy experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults, in pain management, community health, private practice, and hospital settings. Cate uses standardised questionnaires and structured interview to understand how illness, developmental challenges, and previous or current experiences, can impact a young person’s capacity to participate in daily activities. She has a particular interest in understanding how young people make sense of their internal sensations, and the surrounding world, and the impact of these perceptions on emotional development, and engagement in daily activities. Cate provides direct dynamic therapy, utilising expressive, sensory modulation, and attachment-based therapies, and trauma-informed care. Treatment incorporates parent education and coaching, and practical strategies for home and school, to build safety, foster emotional-regulation and growth, and facilitate skills development.
