Overview

Hello, I'm Caroline Crombie. I established the Speakeasy Counselling service in Dalwallinu to provide culturally sensitive, down-to-earth, world class mental health support for people living in the northern Wheatbelt region of WA. My clients come from a variety of backgrounds including Badimaya, Yamatji and Noongar mobs, old farming families, local townsfolk and new migrants. I deeply respect the different spiritual, cultural and ethnic values that each client brings. Together, we have engaged in reflective discussions that span many concerns and interests, as well as encountering all levels of life satisfaction from intense distress to peaceful confidence. Some of my clients are perfectly happy, eager to explore future life goals. At the other end of the spectrum, some clients are experiencing acute distress, perhaps in the context of complex mental illness in themselves or a loved one. Other clients are somewhere in between, and may have come seeking assistance with any number of issues including parenting and couples relationships, gender and sexuality concerns, anxiety and depression, anger-management, drug and alcohol dependence and even sometimes not being quite sure what the problem is, but needing some help figuring it out... In counselling, there's no right or wrong concern, and no need is too great or too small; everyone should have someone to talk to that they can trust completely. We all need that. Coming from a rural, farming background myself, I understand the complexity of living and working in a small, close-knit community. Therefore, I take every precaution to ensure client confidentiality is maintained, and that our social network connections are recognised, respected and sensitively handled. I have qualifications and a long background in psychology and counselling, and currently operate under the legal title of "Counsellor in Private Practice". The Speakeasy clinic operates from two offices, with appointments available in either Dalwallinu or Pithara.
