I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with AHPRA (PSY0002031351). I completed my clinical training (Master of Psychology – Clinical Psychology) from The University of Melbourne in 2018. I currently work predominantly at Northern Health in their Community Therapy Service and Oncology Service. I have previously worked across the services of Melbourne Health and The Royal Children’s Hospital. Currently, I dedicate about 3 hours / week to my private practice - Asmi Psychology (outside of business hours, i.e. weekday evenings and / or Saturdays).
I am passionate about assisting clients in their journey to connect with themselves and to experience change and growth. I draw on evidence-based psychology therapy frameworks such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness based approaches in my practice, and believe in the values of trauma-informed care and person-centred care.
I have a special interest in providing assessment and therapy services to adults and older adults with depression, anxiety, panic disorder and phobias, stress, adjustment disorders, self-esteem and self-confidence issues, grief and loss issues. Furthermore, I am also passionate about working with clients with psychological distress as a result of their physical health challenges for e.g. cancer, persistent pain, change in function due to an accident / injury etc. I speak Hindi, and thus can accept referrals for Hindi-speaking clients.
