Amira is a registered psychologist and clinical psychology registrar with experience supporting children, adolescents and adults in both private and public mental health settings. She is a warm, empathetic and compassionate psychologist, who focusses on creating a collaborative, safe, and non-judgemental therapeutic environment. Amira believes the foundation for effective therapy lies in mutual respect and a genuine connection between therapist and client.
Through her work in inpatient, outpatient and educational settings, Amira has supported individuals experiencing a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, disordered eating, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties, sleep disorders, relationship issues, emotional dysregulation, OCD and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and ASD. When supporting young people, Amira prioritises working closely with parents and support networks, prioritising a holistic approach to care.
Amira utilises various evidence-based approaches to create a tailored intervention plan, targeted to each individuals’ needs and goals. She is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and mindfulness-based approaches.
