Overview

Alex has worked as a general psychologist for 5 years. Doing most of her training in rural Broken Hill, Alex was able to work with a variety of different presentations such as Anxiety and Depression, Phobia's, Eating Disorders and OCD, PTSD and trauma-related disorders, Learning Difficulties like ADHD, Gambling, Alcoholism and Substance Use disorders as well as working specifically with teens experiencing Suicidality and Self-Harm. Living rurally has allowed Alex the opportunity to work across many different contexts and presentations including miners on mine sites to Aboriginal communities, police officers and defense force personnel, teachers, healthcare professionals, parents, teenagers and individuals in low socioeconomic circumstances. Alex is confident in providing a range of different therapy modalities depending on the individual and their circumstances. Alex's therapy skills include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and more. Alex is also credentialed in providing CBT-E, a specialised therapy for the treatment of Eating Disorders.
