Abbey is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and she holds Area of Practice Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist. Abbey is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Abbey is an approachable, warm and empathic clinician. Her intention in every session is to allow the client a space to express themselves and provide evidenced-based treatment to support them. Abbey utilises a strengths-based and client-centred approach in order to nurture independence and identity with her clients, and to ultimately allow them to flourish. She has an interest in working with presentations such as anxiety and depression, as well as with concerns around self-esteem, behavioural difficulties (such as ADHD and ODD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and mood dysregulation. She enjoys working with children and their families, working collaboratively to achieve their goals, whilst having some fun along the way! However, she also has experience working with clients across the lifespan in a number of settings, including in community settings and with Australian Defence Force personnel. Abbey provides evidence-based interventions approaches within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
