She has worked with a broad range of age groups including; adolescents, parents, adults, and the elderly. Jo has a special interest in working with individuals experiencing depression and anxiety and also with women struggling with imbalanced hormones including PCOS.
The therapeutic approaches Jo draws most on in practice include a combination of but are not limited to; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you unpack the thought processes associated with the issue at hand, Emotion Focused Therapy to help you gain an understanding of your emotional response, and Narrative Therapy to help you understand the stories you develop and carry with you. The outcome of using these three therapeutic approaches in practice supports you to feel understood in your personal journey, help’s you to develop a deeper understanding and knowing about who you are as a person and then I will give you the tools to either shift the perspective you once had or you will leave with the tools you need to manage the life challenges you present with.
Jo can also run a range of Functional Medicine Lab testing to identify root cause imbalances in the body. These tests can help identify why you have low energy, bloating, brain fog, can’t lose weight, are feeling tired and wired, experiencing rapid aging and the list goes on. When we’re able to identify the toxicities and deficiencies in the body then we can work on rebalancing the body so that you can have the energy, vitality, and improved mental health that you’re after.
Jo also provides the AromaTouch Technique (ATT) which is a clinical approach to applying essential oils. ATT is not a regular full-body massage, it is a 45-minute to 1-hour treatment. The essential oils applied along energy lines and reflexology points stimulates homeostasis and balance the body. ATT helps to improve well-being by reducing physical and emotional stressors, supports healthy autonomic function, stimulates the body’s energy lines, centers/balances your body system and its function. In addition, this treatment can also help to stimulate the emotional center of your brain creating a sense of well-being.
