Overview

Jeanette has a masters degree in counselling and has been working part time in private practice at The EPICentre since November 2006. Jeanette is now working full time at the EPICentre. From January 2008 to November 2015 Jeanette was employed at Relationships Australia Tasmania in the following roles: counsellor, registered family dispute resolution practitioner (FDRP), clinical supervisor and varying management roles as follows: Manager – Early Intervention Services South (managing teams of counsellors, psychologists and social workers), Manager – Family Dispute Resolution South (managing a team of family dispute resolution practitioners, mediators and child consultants), and also Manager – Client Intake and Reception Services. Jeanette has also worked for over two years as a trauma and torture counsellor at the Phoenix Centre in Hobart from 2008 to 2010. Jeanette uses an eclectic mix of evidence-based therapies, and is trained in general counselling, trauma, grief and loss, child and adolescent counselling, parenting issues, behaviour modification for adults and children, mindfulness training and MiCBT, anxiety, stress and mood management. Jeanette is also trained in Family Dispute Resolution and is registered with the Department of the Australian Attorney General. Jeanette is trained and experienced as a clinical supervisor for counsellors, social workers, FDRP’s and mediators. Jeanette holds National Accreditation for Mediation as determined by the Mediator Standards Board Australia, and has affiliate membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is bound by their code of ethics and values as a professional counsellor.
