Overview

Deborah is a Clinical Psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Psychology, Master of Professional Psychology, Master of Clinical Psychology and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She is also a registered Medicare Provider, Department of Veterans Affairs service provider, NDIS Service Provider and Work Cover accredited, authorised to deliver treatment under the worker's compensation system. She has experience working with patients across a broad range of psychiatric conditions including; Depression, Anxiety, Complex Trauma, Personality Disorders, Substance Abuse and other conditions, across both individual and larger group therapy settings. She has seen a broad range of patients with significant psychiatric conditions, using Schema-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Based Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches. Deborah has worked in various settings including psychiatric hospitals, private practice, and neuro stimulation clinics. She has a strong interest in working with Personality Disorders and Mood Disorders. She also has an interest in couples therapy and assisting individuals with relationship difficulties. Outside of private practice, Deborah has an interest in neuropsychology and is experienced in the area of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy in treating Treatment Resistant Depression and other psychiatric conditions. She was previously appointed as Clinical Director at TMS Clinics Australia and is currently an active member of their Medical Advisory Committee. Deborah is passionate about improving the wellbeing of her patients and believes in a person-centred approach. She believes the most important aspect of therapy is exploring the patient holistically and developing an effective therapeutic alliance. Deborah welcomes patients to Hinz Psychology Clinic.
