Carmel is a qualified Mental Health Counsellor with a Diploma in Counselling from the
Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors. Her studies focused on Mindfulness-Based
Therapies, Grief and Loss Counselling, and Counselling Clients with Addictions.
She has extensive experience working with neurodiverse clients and
provides psychoeducation to support their unique needs. Carmel takes a trauma-informed,
person-centred approach and has a strong understanding of the recovery model. Her
therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Carmel works with clients facing a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief,
women’s health concerns, addiction, and trauma. She has experience in various mental
health settings, including not-for-profit organisations and community support services.
Her areas of interest include mindfulness and natural complementary therapies, such
as massage therapy, aromatherapy, and Reiki.
Carmel is deeply passionate about supporting her clients’ well-being. She prioritises building
trust and rapport, ensuring a safe and supportive space where clients feel understood and
empowered.
