Mr Tom Davies Counsellor

Tom is a counsellor, writer and speaker. For the past four years he has also worked as a non-denominational chaplain in a local aged care home. Originally from Wales, Tom and his wife moved to the Northern NSW area 10 years ago and have two sons. Tom specialises in helping people find meaning and purpose in their lives. He ensures the needs of his clients are met with sensitivity, empathy and care, and his focus is on building a sincere and respectful therapeutic relationship. Tom has had the unique privilege of working with people as they contemplate and face their own death. Both the academic literature and his own experience have taught him that finding meaning and connecting with others are indispensable components for a life well lived. Some of the influences on Tom’s practice include person-centred therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and the philosophy and approach of Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy (meaning-based therapy). Tom specialises in the following areas: Depression Anxiety Lack of purpose Meaninglessness Life stage transitions Addiction and recovery Interpersonal relationships Tom is an ACA accredited counsellor and holds a Graduate Diploma of Psychology, a Masters of Counselling and a Bachelor of Arts.
