Thomas Murphy | Registered Psychologist (AHPRA, HCPC)
I understand how psychological pain can affect all areas of our lives especially our relationships, our sense of self, and our ability to manage the demands of everyday living. In our sessions the aim is to help you make sense of your difficulties, build resilience, and develop practical strategies so you can live the life that you want.
I work integratively, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic models to tailor our work to what fits best for you and your goals. Our sessions will be collaborative and centered around your needs.
Over the past six years, I've worked in both hospital and community mental health settings across Australia and the UK, supporting people from all walks of life. I've worked with individuals facing a wide range of challenges particularly in areas such as anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, disordered eating, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, ADHD, autism spectrum conditions and trauma.
The most common barriers I've observed in individuals seeking therapy is the belief that their difficulties aren't "serious enough", concerns that therapy may not be effective, or previous experiences that felt invalidating or unhelpful. Therapy is a space for reflection, support and growth regardless if you are in currently in crisis or just seeking more self-awareness. It's also important to find a therapist who feels like the right fit for you.
Feel free to get in touch and I'd be happy to chat about how we can work together.
